Do you want to support the relief campaigns of the Veterans for Lebanon Foundation (VVL Foundation) at the same time as having a chance to win a fully arranged 8-day veterans trip to South Lebanon?

It's possible! By participating in the VVL Sponsor Lottery you even have a double chance. This year, the VVL Foundation is raffling 2x this main prize worth € 1350 per winning ticket.

Why a lottery?
Next summer, we will ship the 35th sea container, loaded with relief supplies obtained from donations, to Beirut. Sending a container now costs much more than two years ago. As always, we try to obtain the necessary money for this through donations. That is not always easy, especially since Lebanon is not the only country with enormous problems. But for most of us Unifil veterans, the country has an extra place in their hearts, so in addition to writing to companies and municipalities, we will continue to appeal to you as a reader by a sponsor lottery, so that we can continue to send containers.

What does a ticket cost and what exactly is this money spent on?
One lottery ticket costs € 20,- and a maximum of 1500 tickets are sold. 85% of your lottery ticket will go to the Veterans for Lebanon Foundation. 100% of that goes to the people of Lebanon who can really use our help. The raffle will run from June 15, 2022 to September 15, 2022. On September 16, 2022,  notary J.H. Brummelhuis in Deventer will draw the two winning tickets.

How do you play along?
From 15 June to 15 September you can buy the tickets by transferring the requested amount to bank account number:

You will receive your lottery ticket(s) in your letterbox within two weeks. For every 20 euros you transfer you will receive one ticket. (Note: we cannot send a lot without stating name and address, so pay attention to mentioning it).
It is also possible to buy lottery tickets directly from one of the members of the VVL foundation. We will be present at the National Veterans Day in The Hague on 25 June, among other things.
You then enter your name, address and telephone number on the corresponding entry form and save the lottery ticket until the draw. In that case, participants pay in cash or digitally via a QR code, using the banking app on your smartphone. After payment you will immediately receive your ticket(s). You recognize us this day by the VVL T-shirt and the VVL flag on the Malieveld with our logo.

What are the prizes and when is the draw?
We raffle twice a fully arranged 8-day trip to Lebanon in 2023.
The trip consists of 1 standard return flight ticket Amsterdam Beirut with Transavia. You travel with a group of various veterans to the South of Lebanon for a few days, maximum 20 people, in a luxury coach with driver and guide. Prior to the trip you make your wishes known regarding the visit to the south. You provide a valid passport yourself. We will arrange the necessary documents on site. All lodging and meals are included. Except for own consumptions (alcoholic drinks) and souvenirs.
The date of the trip has not yet been determined. We hope to make this trip in mid-April / May 2023, but that can also be in the autumn, October 2023. The prize cannot be exchanged for money.

The draw will take place on: September 16, 2022. The winning participants will be notified by telephone.
