Belgian military plane on airfield Beirut.
Keulen (ANP/Belga), 10 October 2024
Subject: 8 pallets with medical supplies that we received from our sponsor on October 6 for shipment to Beirut.
Before it was finally settled with the Ministry of Defence, there was still a lot of calling and arranging.
As a result, the necessary customs documents were drawn up late Monday evening with the cooperation of Easyshipping, at an affiliated administration office.
We are grateful to Easyshipping for the great cooperation.
On Tuesday morning at 04.30 am, the picked up the pallets in Wierden and brought them to Eindhoven.
After picking up the 8 pallets, there were unexpected setbacks in terms of connection and the pallets were brought to Cologne.
A Belgian military plane took off from Cologne, Germany, on Thursday morning, 10 October, for Lebanon, after an earlier attempt had failed. The device picks up civilians in Beirut and brings medical equipment for the Lebanese government.
Belgium already sent an Airbus A330 to Lebanon on Wednesday, but that aircraft had to return over the Adriatic Sea due to a technical defect.
That is why another plane was sent to Beirut today around 10:00 a.m. to pick up Belgians and other rights holders.
We would like to thank all the ministries involved and the Belgian Air Force for their efforts, including getting the 8 pallets of Medical Supplies to Beirut.
