Update action Veterans for Lebanon

We have spent the donations you have made from the 'Veterans for Beirut' campaign in a very targeted way. For example, in collaboration with Containers of love, we have recently been able to contribute to the sending of several containers with relief goods.
In the meantime, more than twenty sea containers have been shipped to Beirut. On 12 March, a number of containers with goods will be shipped again. Unfortunately, the need is still high.
Our help remains very welcome.
One of these actions was aimed at the East Beirut district. The neighborhood that was hit hardest by the explosion on August 4, 2020. Precisely this district is characterized by the many beautiful old houses.
Where in the Netherlands there are many social safety nets and elderly people live together in senior complexes, that does not actually exist in Beirut.
In this old neighborhood, elderly people are often forced to live independently in their own (rental) apartment until old age.
Through this message we want to give the action of last November a personal face and show what we could achieve with your contributions. All of the people below were visited by our volunteers in Beirut and minor repairs were made to each of them. Think of installing new windows so that the houses were closed in time for the winter. We have been able to help other residents of this district with small amounts for the purchase of immediate necessities of life.
At two houses, those of Romeo Najib and Rene Francis, we had larger repairs done.
