The Hague, 24 June 2023 National Committee Veterans Day
This day, like every Veterans Day, started with getting up early, in order to be at the station on time.
The train to The Hague was pleasantly crowded.
It reminded me of when I was in the army, the train was always packed with soldiers when we took the last train to Assen on Sunday evening.
Arriving in The Hague, where we met Bert and Jeannet, we walked to the Malieveld.
Over coffee at the Paviljoen Malieveld, more acquaintances joined us and we walked to the UNIFIL stand.
By now it was getting busier and cosier.
The UNIFIL Diorama that Rianne had made was really impressive to see.
It took many hours of work.
The Defile presented itself, which remains a fantastic part of the day.
Afterwards we had a drink at the place where we had started the day before taking the train back home.
The weather was wonderful, the atmosphere was great and above all very convivial.
So, as far as I am concerned, until next year.
