The situation in Lebanon remains difficult.
For us as a foundation, this means continuing to look for ways to offer as much help as possible. That’s easier said than done.
Our trips to Lebanon clearly showed the impact of our work. Sadly, due to recent violent events and ongoing tensions, much has changed especially in the short term.
Still, we remain hopeful. A safe and stable period must come first. Only then will travel advice be updated. Safety always comes first in everything we do.
What are we doing now?
Helping Lebanon is not just about organizing trips. We are actively working behind the scenes on other important projects like our ICT programs for schools.
These projects give children a better start. We were proud to see that several students from our computer classes participated in digital skills competitions. What a great achievement!
The equipment for the third school has already arrived in Lebanon. However, due to the current situation, implementation has been delayed. We are ready to begin as soon as it’s safe to do so.

Behind the scenes
We’re doing everything we can to resume the shipment of aid goods. This is no small task: container projects involve a lot of paperwork, long lead times, and high transport and customs costs.
Fortunately, we’re having constructive discussions with key partners including the Lebanese ambassador to try and reduce these barriers.
We’re also looking closely at the current needs of nursing homes and orphanages, so we can respond quickly once shipments are possible again.
We’ll keep you informed as soon as there’s news.

Looking ahead
We had already prepared cultural and walking trips to Central and Northern Lebanon.
We’re continuing to develop those plans. As soon as travel to Lebanon is safe again, these are the first trips we hope to resume.
