Sponsored solar panels for the school Bauchrieh.

Beirut, 21 June 2025

A French organisation has sponsored the installation of solar panels,

which are now being installed on the school's rooftops.
A new room is being built next to the generator room to house the batteries.

Construction of the battery room is underway.

The idea is that the school's entire electrical installation will be connected to this room.
This will reduce their dependence on Lebanon's unreliable power supply, which suffers from persistent problems mainly due to the economic crisis and a dysfunctional electricity sector.
Power cuts are widespread, and there is a chronic shortage of fuel for power stations.
The entire installation is likely to be operational in three weeks.
In addition, two new backup batteries will be installed in the MER server room.

Each battery pack has a capacity of 300 Ah which should be sufficient to keep the servers running throughout the night.
This will enable us to start using the new server delivered in early 2025.
Unfortunately, this will have to be done remotely, as it is still impossible to provide on-site support due to ongoing unrest in the country.
