One year ago

The Netherlands, 4 August 2021

A year ago today at 18:07 local time, 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate exploded in the port of Beirut.
The explosion could be heard up to 250 kilometers away.
With an incredibly sad result: at least 200 dead, more than 10,000 injured and 300,000 homeless.

The explosion is considered the largest non-nuclear explosion of the 21st century.
Due to the resulting shock wave, very large damage has occurred in a large part of the city.
This was the moment when we founded our Foundation VVL, Veterans for Lebanon.

Now a year later, with our sponsors and in collaboration with the Containers of Love Foundation, we have delivered 28 containers with relief goods to the port of Beirut.
With that we have already helped the local population very well.
In a city with so much damage and thousands of victims, extra help is still very much needed.
We still ask for your help: please DONATE. NL64 INGB 0007 6493 55 o.v.v. Actie Beirut

Every euro goes directly to the locals.

In addition, we have started a number of aid projects; the support of a school and a hospital, both of which were badly damaged by the explosion.
We actively help to repair or replace the data networks. Of course, all this cannot be done without our sponsors, for which we thank you very much.
Here too, extra help is needed: so please DONATE. NL64 INGB 0007 6493 55 o.v.v. Actie Beirut
