Celebration 5 years of the Veterans for Lebanon Foundation!

🎉 5 years of the Veterans for Lebanon Foundation!
It started as an idea born out of solidarity, gratitude and the feeling that something had to be done for a country in the throes of a huge economic crisis. The final straw that led to the foundation being set up was the explosion in the port of Beirut on 4 August 2020.

       

In five years, the VVL Foundation has grown into a strong, enthusiastic group of people with one goal: to provide ongoing support to Lebanon and its people. In those five years, we have achieved a great deal together:

📦 Humanitarian aid
Shipping dozens of sea containers full of relief supplies. From clothing and medical supplies to toys and school materials – collected in the Netherlands and personally handed over in Lebanon. Making homes liveable for the elderly and providing warm places to sleep and various aid projects in schools.

🤝 Connection between people
We brought people closer together. Not only here in the Netherlands, but also by facilitating renewed contact between veterans and the ever-hospitable and grateful families in southern Lebanon, whom they had helped during their mission.

✈️ Impressive return trips
Veterans travelled back to Lebanon with us to recognise, commemorate, help (each other) and often to heal. These trips resulted in special encounters, in-depth conversations and many beautiful new memories.

We took every step together. With volunteers, donors, travel companions, and everyone who supports our foundation. That commitment makes all the difference.
